Why is your site built on Squarespace?
Q: Chxo Internets builds custom websites, and you've developed your own fancy-pants content management system. So why did you build your site in Squarespace?
A: Because it's there? We've been building websites on our own content management systems for over 15 years. But we've also used Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and a few others you've never heard of. Squarespace is the first CMS, besides our own, that we would feel comfortable recommending to a client.
But we're not going to recommend something we don't already use.
This website will probably be rebuilt in Meditation CMS. One of these days. When we're bored. But you guys keep bringing us exciting projects to work on!
Until then, we're enjoying the freedom of using someone else's software for a change. We can complain about bugs, and we don't have to fix them. It's almost perfect!
There's also a more subtle reason: if our cloud goes offline, and the Chxo site was hosted in our cloud, we would have no way to tell you what was going on. Having at least some part of our operations hosted by another company gives us important redundancy during a crisis.
