A drop-in enhancement of the Apache webserver's Fancy Indexing (mod_autoindex) that displays image thumbnails for any gif/jpeg/png images in the directory that are under 500KB.
Lists files alphabetically, directories first. Can be set to page listings if they exceed a certain number of entries. Originally developed to catalog directories of digital camera photos.
Image-List.php is fancier version of Apache's Fancy Indexing. It's an easy way to view directories of images as collections of thumbnails, but it lists regular files, too. Here's a sample listing.
There is a built-in show-source link that you can use to save the PHP code locally.
It is possible to use image-list.php as a replacement for Apache's indexing, either sitewide or serverwide (using some sort of scriptAliased php-bin directory, for example). These things are accomplished by using a DirectoryIndex directive in httpd.conf. You can find the DirectoryIndex documentation here.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for future versions of this script.
